Monday Volleyball kicked off this week in Chelsea, and while it was a little chilly for a May evening, our teams came out in great spirits looking to play some Volleyball! Many people wore wearing long-sleeves under their team shirts, if not a jacket or a hoodie over it. They had to keep themselves warm somehow, and I think jumping sky-high was the way they did it! Check out these mid-air photos of the Monday Volleyball, or should I say Voll-air-ball players!

The start of Thursday's Mid-Winter Volleyball Season was filled with a lot of smiles, much laughter, and yes, actual giggling...!

Whether they are serving it up, attempting a one-armed dig, or simply cheering for/laughing at their fellow teammates, these fun-filled faces from Notorious DIG (red),  #frittatasforever (daisy) and Sets on the Beach (kelly) lit up the courts in SoHo and warmed up the frosty winter air that was whipping outside:

You can just tell this is going to be an GREAT season filled with lots of FUN!

...That there is the definition of a Spike in Volleyball. But these Thursday players #frittatasforever (daisy), That's What She Sets (forrest), The One Hitters (purple), and Chug Monkeys (maroon) take it to another level and show us the Super Spike!

Next, I want to see you all elevate it even more and create the Super SOCIAL Spike! Can you do it? Show us...

There are many many many different types of "Sets" in Volleyball, but for the purpose of this blog entry, we are going to be VERY general...

On the Upper West Side, Beach Volleyball team Sand Camp (kelly) didn't win a game all season. That is... until playoffs!

In the first Semi round (as pictured above), they lost out to the team that ended up winning the entire season: Beachy Keen (royal). But they were given another chance to play in the Bronze round against Soft Serve (red) - or what I like to call "The Christmas Color Challenge":

It was a really tight game, and in the end, one girl on their team (girl on the left in photo below), who did not get a single serve over the net the entrire season, got 6 points in a row to clinch their 3rd Place Win:
