It's opening season for Thursday Chelsea Flag Football as the Game Coordinator briefs the teams on their assignments. Almost every team ultimately derives to three simple objectives: win, mingle, and drink. It will be a tough season but in return a fun and thrilling one.
The game kicks off and is under way while a speedy offensive blocker from Pumped Up Kicks (Lime) races across the field to blindside the defensive rusher. Where in Chelsea did she come from?
On another field, Pickleback Sneak (Kelly) deploys a different tactic of catching and hiding the ball from the defender as she rushes to gain some yards. An excellent tactic, but she left her flags exposed to the defender or perhaps she thought he wouldn’t notice.
After every possession and every yard gain heroes are born. They rush, side step, and pass fake into our hearts. If I were on his team I would cheer for him too!
Every team is flying and diving for every possession. It's the battle of a lifetime and this is only the season opener. Who needs war? We have flag football where all conflict ends with a victor and a plus side for everyone at the bar.

During the innaugural Monday/Thursday Flag Football week at the Chelsea Ballfields, TBD (tn orange) and Pumped Up Kicks (chocolate) put on a brutal show of grid iron excellence usually reserved for late night infomercials and playoff Flag Football. Pumped Up Kicks were able to pull out the victory with some key touchdowns in the second half and fence like defense. It was almost as if they had some sort of barrier that wouldn't allow TBD to get some much needed points in the 26-18 win.
All was not lost for TBD. Sources say that TBD's team name did not stand for "Turkey Bicycle Disco" as many had presumed, but was actually meant to stand for "To Be Determined". It seems that they have determined a new name for the squad according to Emily, TBD's fearless Wide Receiver/Wildcat Quarterback/Linebacker/One Person Cheering Section, they have decided to annouce the new team name Tangermean. Tangermean hopes that the loss this early in the season will not hold them back from conquering teams the rest of the way. Take a listen to Emily's thoughts on the game that she says is better than Peter Pan in 3D.
