I Wear My Sunglasses at... the Y
Now I love Corey Hart as much as the next girl; and I've never been known as one to pass up rockin' out to a sweet 80s jam. So when I saw how some these cool dudes and dudettes from Sharktopus vs Megashark vs MechaGodzilla (Royal) and Ceiling Fans and Porcupines (Light Blue) rocking some late-night, indoor shades at the Inner Tube Water Polo playoffs, I of course couldn't help but think of that classic diddy, "Sunglasses at Night."
I don't know for sure that Mr. Hart ever intended to have his ocular fashion choices mirrored during an aquatic athletic event but, a part of me wishes he did. In fact, I have a feeling that maybe his first version went something like the below.
I wear my sunglasses at the Y, so I can, so I can
Watch you swim then flip your inner tube
And I wear my sunglasses at night, so I can, so I can
Keep from getting water in my eyes
While she's outswimming me, cuts my security
Has she got control of me, I turn to her and say
