It takes a special kind of Team to win our super-fun Spirit Champs title! Here you will find the Official Definitiion of NYC Social's Sprit Champs, and the photo examples of how Tuesday Trivia Team Larry's Beaches (tx orange) Won for the Winter 2012 Season:
The Sprit Champ award is given to the team that best embodies the spirit of the Club at the games. They represent everything we love about our leagues...and they tend to:
1) Have a consistently vibrant presence at the games...

2) Maintain a great Sportsmanship Score...

3) Foster terrific team spirit (even when losing!)...

4) Are loved by other teams and Gamestaff...

5) Customize team uniforms...

6) Find new, fun ways to win Spirit Champ!

The Pretty Princesses of Tuesday Team Trivia Larry's Beaches brought the fun each week:

...And part of their prize package inscluded all of this candy, to help them continue their streak of excitment with sugar (YUM!)...

YAY SPIRIT CHAMPS!!! :)

Most experienced Trivia Players will tell you that their games are mostly fueled by Beer (with some deep-rooted knowledge thrown in). While that may be true, these Tuesday Trivia Teams know to add the bonus of Bar Food to their game in order to be fully fueled up and ready to take on those tough questions we throw out at them...
And when you have the right combination of brains, beer & bar food like Have Fun Storming the Castle (military), Cheese Qwhiz (tn orange), Sara and The Bellums (garnet), Thesis Peanut Butter Cups (orange), Teen Moms (sport grey), #teamnametbd (black) and Larry's Beaches (tx orange) in the gallery above... You may just be our next Winner Winner Chicken Dinner and be rewarded with MORE Food, like Hardons For Hadrons (light blue):

...and then there is the approach of a sugar rush this player from Smarty Pints (royal) decided to try in order to carry one though the game...

Some may look at this photo and think VILE (metro blue) of Tuesday Trivia have fallen asleep... NO WAY! Our Trivia is way too exciting to be able to nod off in the middle of it! They, along with some of these other players below, are just thinking really really HARD...
Gallery features Trivia Teams Hardons For Hadrons (light blue), Suck It, Trebeck (forrest), Sara And The Bellums (garnet), and Too Old For Sanchez (lime)
Who says there's no such thing as a free lunch?! In addition to the chance to win free pitchers, bar tabs, and bragging rights, our Tuesday Trivia Teams had a chance at another prize this week when our lovely staff gave them a shot at a free appetizer with an extra-special third round bonus. That's right, folks, chicken fingers, potato skins, fries, nachos, or a combo platter all up for grabs. I know what you're thinking and yes, that s**t is cray.

After an epic Paper-Scissor-Rock match - ones for the ages - only one winner could be crowned.

And, as they say, to the victor go the spoils!

...Is anyone else hungry all of a sudden?
Tuesday's Trivia Teams are quite the thoughtful bunch. But sometimes it's hard to catch them organically deep in thought with a camera flash going off. Because of that, blogger/photographers like me have to take a little creative license and resort to what we in the business call "faking it". Sometimes people are great at faking it. Sometimes they're not so great. I'll let you be the judge over who was caught with their real thinking face and who's just humoring me...
Einstein's Socks (Jade): Making it, or faking it?

What about Smarty Pints (Royal): Deep in thought or deep in pretending to be deep in thought?

And, well, Math Debators (Honey) look like they're not even trying to fake thinking but we're still ok with this one...

Practice that thinking face, folks. You never know when you might need to fake it.
I know I'm not the only one who remembers the game ">Pretty Pretty Princess. While my tastes were for a more sophisticated board game fare, namely the childhood classic ">Mouse Trap (which is, after all, a metaphor for the modern man's Sysiphusian struggle with society), I did still engage in my fair share of Pretty Pretty Princess games in my day. If I recall, the goal of the game was to acquire as much "bling" as possible.
Well, I think maybe some of our Tuesday Trivia players might have been channeling their inner Pretty Pretty Princesses this week. Just take a look at Larry's Beaches (Texas Orange), Trivia's resident "Bling Experts."

They've pledged to continuously add a fun new accessory each week and as an added bonus, they're great at sharing!

Even Bar Liaisons and Sara and the Bellums (Garnet) players can be pretty princesses too!!
