Saturday LES Kickballers got a special treat this month when Cinco De Mayo landed on their mid-season games, and one Team definitely came prepared:

Sore muscles are natural for the average active New Yorker. But, when your Kickball Team needs you, despite aching muscles, you step up to the plate (literally) like this lady of Saturday's Jiminy Kickit (kelly):

Take a moment and smile at the ball (make it your friend)...

But when the habit is this much fun, why would you want to?  (And we don't even have any pictures of the after parties here -- just think of all you're missing, or not remembering!)...

Today on Free Stuff Friday, it's Name that Tune! We're asking our NYC Social players and fans to caption the photograph above (taken at the recent Coors Light Ice Luge Dodgeball Afterparty at Crime Scene) with their choice jam.

To enter, just log into your Facebook account and (this is important) change your profile pic to a recognizable photo of you in your NYC Social t-shirt! Then list your jam in the comment section below. Commissioner Barparty will choose two jams at random at 5pm (If you're not already friends with C.B., that's why you're not invited to all the good parties). It's mid-season, and Saturday LES Kickball upstarts Miss Frizzle's Gym Class All-Stars (Light Blue) are the team to beat this year, at least in the (underrated) category of flaming footwear fashion. The team designed and screen-printed this retro logo on the backs of their NYC Social T's.

As many quite understand, kicking is a very important part of playing the game of kickball. Without it, the game would simply be called "ball", leading to much confusion as to what game it is. But kicking isn't the only part of the sport, as cheers, some help to the refs and some celebratory beverages all help make Kickball the sport of champions.

The first step towards making contact with the ball is most important, while a good wind up - like this gal's from Kick, Kick...BOOM!! (Kelly) - is part of the recipe for success.
