 Team Trivia player on Jeopardy!!
When I arrived at Aces & Eights UES on Tuesday for Trivia Playoffs, I made sure to come extra early to watch Jeopardy. Amy from the #1 ranked team in the league (including both Team Trivia divisions), Not Smarter Than A 5th Grader, was on! As a reigning champion, no less!
She taped the episode in December…and it just happened to be airing the night of the playoffs. We stood around the bar, cheering her on (although she already knew the outcome). It was her second day on the show, but she lost to some jerk documentarian. No offense to him.
Some of the teams started to feel a little worried about a Jeopardy champ on the #1 team as the Quiz began. But as luck would have it, 5th Grader didn’t place…
Read more about the night and check out some pics after the jump!

 Suspicious Packages
The neighborhood outside may be quiet, but inside Brooklyn Bowl the atmosphere is anything but. Of course, when you’re partying with NYC Social Sports Club Tuesday night Bowling, nothing is quiet and nowhere is out of bounds.
.
Ah what could be better than Bowling? Comfortable places to sit down, you’re unlikely to break a sweat, and people willingly bring you beer and bar food. It’s what it must feel like to be President Obama, provided he’s not exercising.

This tight-knit group of ice-warriors had endured yet another season together, and though some teeth had gone missing, and a few bones had been rather misplaced, it was a victory for everyone involved.

It’s hard to tell by looking around now, but we had quite the blizzard on our hands last weekend. In fact, we had so much snow that we decided to postpone games for our Saturday Football League, and take advantage of the opportunity to have one massive Snow Day. Remember that feeling of elation you had as a kid, when you awoke to piles of snow and the news that school was canceled? How you couldn’t wait for that first “Crrrunch” under your feet, the snowmen, and snowball fights? Read the rest of this entry »

Emotions ran high as dodgeballers threw, blocked, and, of course, dodged in front of a packed house at St. Patrick’s Youth Center on February 24.
“That was intense!” exclaimed Kersten of Dodge Mahal after her team, Dodge Mahal, eeked out a victory over Hoof-hearted. The game came down to a one-on-one showdown, but Kersten was most proud of the fact that Dodge Mahal was working better as a unit. “We’re a getting a lot better at communicating. Now if we could just play some defense.”
